Microsoft Clarity records clicks and scrolling with typed text masked. Switch it off with “Essential only” or on the Privacy choices page.
Choices are saved in your browser
Clearing site data resets them and the banner returns.
The summary helps you read; the full text below is what applies.
1.What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. “Session” cookies disappear when you close the browser; “persistent” ones last until their expiry date. Sites also use local storage (like a cookie, but larger and not sent with requests), pixels (tiny images that report a page was viewed), and scripts from other companies that set their own cookies. This policy covers all of them.
2.How your choices work
- First visit. A banner offers “Accept all” or “Essential only”, with a link to the Privacy choices page where each category has its own switch.
- Before you choose, analytics, advertising and session-recording tags run. This is the U.S. opt-out model; if you would rather nothing non-essential runs, choose “Essential only”.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends the GPC signal, advertising is switched off automatically and the switch is locked off.
- Session recordings (Microsoft Clarity) capture clicks, scrolling and taps. The text you type into form fields is masked by the recording tool and is not captured. Turning recordings off stops them on the next page view.
- Changing your mind. Open Privacy choices at any time. A tag that already loaded on the current page stops on the next page view.
